Conversation with a mirror
The King said to me
"What do you think?"
And I thought
-This day my life is in my hands
and my family are in danger
of becoming destitute-
Then I replied
"I think you are right my Lord"
And the King replied
"Of course I'm right"
But he wasn't right
and the whole episode
stank to high heaven
I could not have changed his mind
only ruined my life
the King's subjective truth
would still have become common truth
and who or what but you
could ever chide
that my subjective truth
was not right for me.
